Sue Heck May Get Her Own ‘The Middle’ Spinoff

Sadly, we have seen the end of ABC’s The Middle, but there may be a silver lining for fans of the quirky sitcom and equally quirky character, Sue Heck. According to a report in Entertainment Weekly, ABC is considering a spinoff focusing on the delightfully optimistic Heck middle child, played brilliantly by actress Eden Sher. The show certainly ended with Sue’s future not entirely sewn-up, leaving an opportunity to delve deeper into her untold relationship with Sean, and career future in the hotel industry. However, fans should err of the side of caution as Entertainment Weekly suggested the idea is still in the very early stages and nothing has been decided yet. As for Eden, she has spoken numerous times about just how much she enjoys playing Sue, including telling Variety, “I feel like playing Sue has allowed me to be me. Playing Sue has allowed me to realize I’m good at something. The qualities that were Sue qualities that were also Eden qualities were encouraged and showed me I’m good on my own and I’m OK just being me.”
