McDonald’s launched “Free Fries Friday” for users of the fast-food chain’s mobile app, allowing customers to claim free fries each Friday through the end of the year.
App users can claim one free medium Fries with any $1 minimum purchase every Friday through Dec. 31, 2023, the company said.
In order to claim the free fries, app users can go to the deals tab and select the Free Fries Friday deal, then tap the “Add Deal to Mobile Order” button. Users must use contactless payment to pick up their order, and they can pay with any major credit card connected to their account.
Customers can only claim one Free Fries Friday deal per Friday, the company said.
“The good news is that this might take a small bit out of inflation but if you use it every Friday it could put a bigger bite into your health bills,” financial expert Ted Jenkin, the co-founder of Exit Stage Left Advisors, said.
Earlier this month, McDonald’s confirmed the McRib would be back at participating stores in November. Despite the barbecue pork sandwich’s “farewell tour” in 2022, the McRib will be returning, though it isn’t clear which locations will offer it. The elusive sandwich hasn’t been a permanent menu item in more than 30 years.
Rival fast-food chain Taco Bell earlier this month offered the Taco Lover’s Pass for National Taco Day, which allows Taco Bell Rewards Members to claim one of a selection of iconic tacos per day for 30 consecutive days, for free. The new Toasted Breakfast Tacos are also available for free on Taco Tuesdays in October.
Passholders can choose from the new Toasted Breakfast Tacos, Seasoned Beef Crunchy Taco, Seasoned Beef Crunchy Taco Supreme, Seasoned Beef Soft Taco, Seasoned Beef Soft Taco Supreme, Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Seasoned Beef Doritos Locos Tacos, and Seasoned Beef Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme.
