Ireland Baldwin is celebrating a huge milestone in her battle with anorexia and bulimia – and offering support and encouragement to other people suffering from an eating disorder.
Baldwin, who is the daughter of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin, took to social media to share she has been free from eating disorders for six years.
In a video posted to Instagram, Baldwin told fans, “Got a call from my old program yesterday … 6 years.”
“Wanted to announce that today is the 15th of August, and today marks six years that I have been free of anorexia and bulimia and all of my other food compulsion and eating disorders that I have struggled through for many years,” Baldwin shared in the video.
“And today marks six years. So, you can do it,” she encouraged others battling with eating disorders.
According to
People, Baldwin first opened up about her eating disorder history on Instagram back in 2018, writing at the time, “I battled with many eating disorders and body issues as a younger girl and it took me a long time to find self love and acceptance! Trust me, all of that pain and destruction I inflicted on myself wasn’t worth it. Turning down so. Many. Sides. Of. Fries. Wasn’t worth it!!”
