Elon Musk is banking on one US city becoming the “biggest boomtown that America has seen in fifty years.”
According to Business Insider, Musk – who last summer moved his new Cybertruck factory to Texas and confirmed in December he would be relocating from California to the Lone-Star State himself, has said he believes Austin, Texas is destined to become the newest boomtown.
In an interview on The Joe Rogan Experience, Musk said he thought Austin has huge potential, telling listeners, “Austin is a bit like mini California.”
However, Musk was quick to add that the wave of Californians moving to Austin should be careful not to change the city too much, Business Insider reports.
“I think we do need to make sure that … people who move here from California don’t inadvertently recreate the issues that caused them to move in the first place,” Musk said on The Joe Rogan Experience.
