In an effort to get people back into the job market, Connecticut is offering a $1,000 bonus as part of its “Back to Work” program.
According to
Yahoo!Finance, Connecticut’s governor Ned Lamont announced the “Back to Work” program will offer $1,000 for the first 10,000 residents who sign up.
“We got hit hard by COVID a little over a year ago,” Lamont told
Yahoo! Finance. “We’ve got a lot of folks that are very COVID hesitant.”
To be eligible for the bonus,
Yahoo!Finance reports the initiative will apply to individuals who have been “long-term unemployed.” Recipients who filed for unemployment before May 30, get hired, and work for 8 consecutive months will be eligible.
