America is full of cities and towns of people who just love their dogs, but there are five places in particular that are renowned for being extremely dog-friendly.
Rover, which is the nation’s largest network of dog walkers and dog sitters, just conducted a study of more than 1,600 U.S. cities to see which ones came out on top for being the best place for a pooch to live. They took into account dog population, availability of grooming and vet services, access to dog friendly parks and other pet amenities.
#1 – Naples, Florida
Naples received a perfect score from Rover for dog services. This Florida city has nearly 50 grooming places and a slew of trainers and vets just waiting to lavish attention on your four-legged friend.A post shared by naples, florida (@naples.florida) on
#2 – Austin, Texas
Austin has some great dog-friendly parks, plenty of vet services and even a doggie and me yoga class at Austin Doga, meaning both you and your pooch are likely to live a healthy lifestyle in Austin!
#3 – Chicago, Illinois
Chicago has some great food and going out to eat in the windy city doesn’t mean leaving your beloved pet at home. The city is full of pet-friendly restaurants, which allow your dog to dine with you on the patio. The city also has pet-friendly stores and dogs will appreciate the famed Montrose Dog Beach on Lake Michigan.
#4 – Las Vegas, Nevada
With its year-round gorgeous weather, your dog will love the numerous parks scattered across Sin City, including over 20 off-leash dog parks.
#5 – West Hollywood, California
Many of West Hollywood’s hotels welcome dogs to stay with their guests. Your pet will love taking a hike up Mount Hollywood to view the infamous Hollywood sign. Who knows, they may even be discovered!
