You can guarantee there is nothing more us yoga pant-loving women hate than a man who critiques our most comfortable cherished pants. From the gym, to school runs, to running around town doing errands, yoga pants are easy to throw on, comfortable and let’s face it – even if we aren’t spending our days at the gym – wearing yoga pants makes us look as though we have the best intentions of doing so.
That’s why a letter written to a local paper from a disgruntled male Rhode Island reader has caused such outrage.
“Please women, put away the yoga pants,” Alan Sorrentino urged. “From casual to formal, weddings, funerals, and even for the workplace, yoga pants are everywhere on women of all ages…what a disaster.”
“Not since the mini-skirt has there been something worn by so many women who should never have it on in the first place…on mature, adult women there is something bizarre and disturbing about the appearance they make in public…do yourself a favor, grow up and stop wearing them in public,” Sorrentino urged.

Alas for Mr. Sorrentino his pleas fell on deaf ears. Thanks to a Facebook event post, hundreds of women marched in a peaceful Yoga Pants Parade.
“Let’s take a leisurely walk through the neighborhood wearing our most comfortable pair of yoga pants,” the Facebook post read. Approximately 400 women peacefully marched in the protest. Mr. Sorrentino was invited to the event, but declined the invitation.
