Bucking the trend of recent years, Walmart and other major grocery stores will be closed this Thanksgiving Day, so better make sure you have all of your turkey dinner supplies on hand before the big day.
Walmart, which typically offers Black Friday deals beginning on Thanksgiving evening, revealed they have decided to close to give employees time with their families after a “trying year.”
“Our best ideas come from our associates, and this year we have decided to close our stores on Thanksgiving Day – November 26. We know it’s been a trying year, and you’ve stepped up. We want you to enjoy the day at home with your loved ones,” Walmart’s CEO John Furner said in a press release.
According to
Yahoo! Life, other grocery stores opting to stay closed this Thanksgiving include Target, Aldi, Winn Dixie, Sam’s Club, Costco, Publix, and Trader Joe’s.
