As the coronavirus pandemic takes hold we are being told to wash our hands regularly, but we should also be cleaning the thing we reach for most throughout the day – our phones!
We are touching, typing and bringing our phones to our faces and they can be a harbinger for germs, with some studies even showing our phones can be dirtier than a toilet seat!
So what’s the best way to clean our phones – and how often should we be doing it?
Earlier this week Apple confirmed disinfecting wipes, like Clorox brand, are safe to use on their phones, which makes disinfecting your electronic devices a whole lot easier.
Similarly you can also use a non-abrasive or alcohol-based disinfectant and a soft cloth. Spray the disinfectant on the soft cloth and wipe away, just make sure you don’t use a paper towel which could scratch the phone screen.
After wiping down your phone with either a disinfecting wipe, or spray, dry the phone with a clean microfiber cloth.
How often should you clean your phone? It depends on how often you reach for it during the day. If you are touching your phone a lot, you should try to clean it at least 5 times per day.
