Taco Bell is partnering with Portland-based ice cream company Salt & Straw to produce a new take on the Klondike Choco Taco discontinued in 2022.
Fans were crushed when the longtime ice-cream truck staple was discontinued, but an elevated version of the classic treat will be coming to both chains this summer, and will be available to purchase online for delivery nationwide.
The new Taco Bell x Salt & Straw always-crispy Ice Cream Chocolate Taco will be made with hand pressed waffle cones, fresh-made cinnamon ancho ice cream dipped in single origin chocolate, studded with toasted brown rice and complete with custom sauces and a tangy cheesecake dip.
The announcement of the new ice cream taco was one of the highlights of Taco Bell’s first Live Más LIVE event in Las Vegas during Super Bowl weekend. Other new products announced by the fast-food chain include hot sauce collaborations with Portland-based Secret Aardvark and musician Omar Apollo’s brand Disha Hot. Taco Bell will also work with Beekeeper Coffee, famous for their signature cold brew with honey, on a Horchata Cold Brew Latte based on the classic Mexican cinnamon beverage.
Other food innovations set to roll out this year include the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada, which is out now, along with Crispy Chicken Nuggets, Cheesy Enchilada Dipping Tacos, and Cheesy Street Chalupas.
For dessert, the brand will also be offering up a Mtn Dew Baja Blast Gelato and Dulce de Leche Cinnabon Delights.
