Soon vegetarian Subway customers will have something more to choose from aside from a veggie sub.
Subway announced they will roll out a Beyond Meatball Marinara sub at 685 locations in the US and Canada starting September.
According to
Business Insider, the sandwich replaces Subway’s classic meatballs with a vegetarian option from Los Angeles-based company, Beyond Meat, who specialize in producing plant-based meat alternatives.
The Beyond Meatball Marinara sub will use the same sauce and cheese as Subway’s regular meatball sub, meaning vegans will have to omit the cheese.
Beyond Meat has also partnered with other chains to offer meat-free choices, including Del Taco, TGI Fridays, and Dunkin’.
