If you love a good, strong cup of Italian espresso coffee to get your day going, a new study suggests you may also be adding years to your life!
A new study published in The Journal of Nutrition took a look at the health benefits between “Italian-style” espresso coffee drinkers and those that didn’t drink coffee and found it helped them avoid cardiovascular disease.
According to Eat This, Not That!, the study looked at the relationship between 20,487 people and their daily intake of Italian-style espresso. None of the participants had cardiovascular disease or cancer at the beginning of the study and each consumed approximately 30 ml or more of espresso coffee every day over the course of eight years.
Eat This, Not That! reports scientists found that compared to those who didn’t drink coffee, three to four shots of Italian-style espresso was associated with lower risks of cardiovascular disease specifically.
