For the first time in almost a decade, McDonald’s is adding new bakery items to its McCafé menu.
The additions come as the fast-food breakfast war continues to loom due to more and more Americans working from home due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Beginning October 28, the McCafé menu will expand to include three delicious new bakery options – a cinnamon roll, a blueberry muffin, and an apple fritter.
“We know our customers deserve a break now more than ever, and are excited to give them another reason to visit their favorite breakfast destination by offering delicious flavors they crave, any time of the day,” said Linda VanGosen, vice president of brand and menu strategy, in a statement reported by several media outlets.
The new items will join two other baked goods already on the McCafé menu: a chocolate chip cookie, and an apple pie.
