Jillian Michaels Shares Top Tip for Optimal Gut Health

More and more research is showing our gut health has a direct impact on not just our physical well-being, but also our mental health.
According to Cooking Light, fitness trainer Jillian Michaels has made gut health a priority in her life and makes it a point to consume fermented and probiotic foods everyday, such as plain Greek yogurt, or cottage cheese.

However, the Biggest Loser star told Cooking Light she has a simple trick to help optimize her gut health with the busy mom of two revealing she pairs probiotic foods with fiber to help feed the good gut bacteria.
According to Cooking Light, fiber is a prebiotic – the stuff probiotics feed on.
“One of my favorite breakfasts is cottage cheese with half a banana, a little granola, and a handful of berries,” Michaels told Cooking Light. “The banana and berries help add fiber to fuel the probiotics.”
