Food Network star, Rachael Ray, is donating four million meals to pets affected by the coronavirus pandemic, thanks to her pet food brand, Rachael Ray Nutrish.
Notorious animal lover Ray made the announcement during a video call with The View, in the hopes companion animals will stay well-fed during this period of uncertainty.
The pet food will be donated to animal shelters and families who are struggling to feed their pets. The pet food donation isn’t the only way Ray is stepping up to help those affected by COVID-19. Ray also announced she would be donating $4 million to virus relief efforts through her two charities, The Rachael Ray Foundation and Yum-o!
“My overall goal with these donations is to support American families affected during the COVID-19 crisis with assistance for two-legged and four-legged family members,” Ray said in a statement on The Rachael Ray Show website. “We felt it was important to help offset the decline in donations organizations have experienced, from a combination of the cancelation of fundraising events and reduced private donations.”
