Sporting a trendy grey pixie hair-style, veteran Hollywood actress Jane Fonda addressed climate change in a big way during the 2020 Oscars ceremony by recycling a previous outfit.
While most actresses and actors splurged thousands on a new outfit for the occasion, Fonda delved into her closet to re-wear a gorgeous Elie Saab gown she previously wore to Cannes in 2014.
Fonda paired the crimson beaded gown with a red coat she told people gathered at a climate change protest on Friday would be “the last article of clothing I will ever buy,” according to People.
“You see this coat? I needed something red and I went out and found this coat on sale. This is the last article of clothing that I will ever buy,” People reports Fonda as saying. “When I talk to people and say, ‘We don’t really need to keep shopping. We shouldn’t look to shopping for our identity. We don’t need more stuff,’ I have to walk the talk. So I’m not buying any more clothes.”
