Just days after giving fans a heads up she was feeling unwell and may possibly have to cancel an upcoming concert, Ariana Grande was forced to pull the plug on Sunday night’s concert in Kentucky.
Grande was scheduled to perform at Lexington’s Rupp Arena as part of her “Sweetener” world tour.
The
Six Rings singer took to Instagram to break the news, telling fans in a video post, “Okay, so I woke up kind of 10 times worse and it hurts so bad to swallow. I’m not really sure what’s going on, but I unfortunately don’t think I will be able to push through tonight and I’m so upset and sorry.”
“Ugh. I’m so upset, but of course, obviously you’ll be refunded, etc. I’m just devastated. Thank you for understanding and sending love, etc., whatever. I’ll keep you posted as soon as I know what’s going with my body, but thank you for understanding, and I am so sorry,” Ariana told fans.
Grande’s next stop on her tour is Atlanta, where she is scheduled to perform on Tuesday. Neither Grande or the venue has made any announcement regarding a possible cancellation. Grande’s “Sweetener” tour is set to wrap up at the end of December.
