Singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran spent his day hanging out at Buckingham Palace and chit-chatting to Prince Charles as he was awarded an MBE during the investiture ceremony.
The prestigious honor makes Sheeran a member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his services to the music industry. All of Sheeran’s albums have reached number one on the U.K. music charts.
During the ceremony, Sheeran casually chatted with Prince Charles and even hinted at wanting to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.
The 26-year-old revealed during the event he contributes his success to perseverance and self-belief rather than talent, saying, “I think it’s persistence. I don’t have a vast amount of talent compared to other people.”
“I think talent is like thirty percent of it and persistence, drive and self belief are the other ones, which I guess are all the same thing,” Sheeran remarked.
