Amazon has amped up its prowess in the competition to dominate the busy holiday shopping season by dropping its free shipping minimum for non-prime customers.
The company announced on Monday it would waive the $25 minimum non-Prime customers normally have to spend to get free shipping starting November 5th. The promotion, which only applies to customers in the U.S. will last until Amazon can no longer guarantee items will arrive in time for Christmas.
According to
Reuters, just over half of households in the U.S. have an Amazon Prime account and the company is hoping to attract non-Prime members by axing the shipping minimum.
