A new study carried out by researchers at the University of Saskatchewan found that people with hypertension can lower their blood pressure by stretching for just 30 minutes a day.
According to
Health, the study found that those who stretched for just half an hour five days a week for 8 weeks experienced greater reductions in blood pressure than those who took a brisk walk for the same amount of time.
Although further research is needed,
Health reports the researchers attribute stretching with helping to alleviate stiffness in the arteries, which may improve blood flow and pressure.
