According to Redbook, hair in 2021 will be all about natural balance and healthy shine. The fascination with the ‘90s will still be hot in 2021, with the decade’s famous blunt bob taking center stage.
Redbook reveals natural shades – think sandy and cinnamon browns – will be popular in 2021. Hair color will be low-maintenance, something we all learned during quarantine, with people wanting to stay as close as possible to their natural shade.
Along with wanting to keep hair as natural as possible comes maintenance and 2021 will be all about healthy, shiny, conditioned locks.
The ‘90s look will be here to stay for 2021 with blunt, chin-level bobs being a big hit for the new year.
However, there is no need to fear if you like to be more creative with your crowning glory. Redbook reports ‘fantasy hair’ will be all the rage in 2021, especially pastel tones as we move into spring. Cool icy blonde highlights and balayage techniques with pure white, or creamy hues will also be a big look.
“It seems to be an emotional decision to bring lightness and positivity back into the clients’ day-to-day life, embracing the new and positive change,” celebrity colorist Richy Kandasamy told Redbook. “The evolution in spring 2021 will be during the toning process, where we’ll see more creative pastel tones coming back.”
