Solange Knowles Latest Celeb to Delete Twitter Account

Solange Knowles has become the latest celebrity to ditch Twitter, citing a need for “self preservation.”
Before deleting her Twitter account Solange sent out one last tweet applauding Takiyah Thompson, the 22-year-old who was charged with two felonies after helping to topple a Confederacy statue in North Carolina on Tuesday. Source: Twitter via@solangeknowles
In her last tweet Solange wrote, “Deleting my twitter soon, but before I dip when we gonna pull up? & what we got to do to get my new hero Takiyah Thompson free?”
Solange will still participate in some forms of social media. The singer is keeping her Instagram account active and has used the forum to explain to fans why she has felt the need to delete Twitter from her life, revealing via Instagram stories the anger she felt over the white supremacy marches and the racism her 12-year-old son had to witness. Solange shared she needs to practice “self preservation” so “I can preserve my spirit to perform this album.”
