Amid a fierce backlash on social media, Pepsi has been forced to pull their latest commercial featuring reality star and model, Kendall Jenner.
And a source close to Jenner has revealed to
ET Online the 21-year-old is devastated and fears the controversy surrounding the ad could hurt her career.

“This is the first controversial she has been involved with,” the source told
ET Online. “Even though she had nothing to do with the production and the message of the campaign, she will be blamed for this since she is the face.”
In the commercial Jenner is seen attending a protest. She then single handedly ends the protest, amid cheers from the crowd, by sharing a Pepsi with a police officer.
After receiving threats to boycott the soft drink amid claims the company were ridiculing the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, Pepsi were forced to pull the ad. The company released a statement saying, “Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are pulling the content and halting any further roll out. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position.”
