Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are taking their split from Kensington Palace one step further by filing a trademark for their personal royal foundation, ‘Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.’
The move gives the royal couple intellectual property rights over use of the name and, according to People, means the Duke and Duchess can take legal action against anyone who uses the brand without their permission.
According to Cosmopolitan, Meghan and Prince Harry filed the trademark on June 21, with the filing published last week.
The trademark covers everything from posters, greeting cards, and photographs, to clothing, stationery, charitable fundraising, and magazines.
