McDonald’s Reveals Menu Items For New CosMc’s Chain Ahead Of First Opening

McDonald’s has revealed the planned menu items at its spinoff chain CosMc’s, ahead of the opening of the first location in Bolingbrook, Ill., this month.
CosMc’s will be smaller-format cafes focused on beverages, but will have a small lineup of snacks and sandwiches.
Speaking at an investor presentation Wednesday, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said CosMc’s will meet the growing demand for an afternoon beverage pick-me-up, a $100 billion market McDonald’s isn’t currently strong in.
The array of beverages on offer will feature bold and unexpected flavor combinations, vibrant colors and functional boosts, the company said.
Specialty coffees, teas, lemonades and other beverages will be offered, including Sour Cherry Energy Slush, Tropical Spiceade, Blueberry Ginger Boost, and S’mores Cold Brew. The drinks can be customized with popping boba, flavor syrups, energy or Vitamin C shots and more.
The food menu features small bites including Savory Hash Brown Bites, Pretzel Bites, sweet McPops, and other desserts, along with two sandwiches: the Creamy Avocado Tomatillo Sandwich and the Spicy Queso Sandwich. Familiar McDonald’s favorites including Egg McMuffins and McFlurry’s will also be available.
The company plans to open around 10 CosMc’s pilot locations through 2024, including in the Dallas–Fort Worth and San Antonio areas in Texas.
The early Space Age theme follows on the hells of another nostalgia-driven offering from the fast-food giant. McDonald’s announced it is bringing back adult Happy Meals on Dec. 11 for a limited time, after the success of last year’s McDonalds x Cactus Plant Flea Market collab.
This year, McDonald’s is partnering with DJ and entertainer Kerwin Frost to present the Kerwin Frost Box, which will include a choice of 10-piece Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac, World Famous Fries, a soft drink and a McNugget Buddy collectible.
It will be the first appearance of McNugget Buddies in more than 25 years, customized by Kerwin Frost with their own personalities and interchangeable outfits.
