The Qatar Kite Festival kicked off Thursday at the Museum of Islamic Art Park in Doha, with professional kite flyers from all over the world.
A video shared by Qatar Events shows dozens of elaborate, high-flying kites over the park. There are kites in the form of creatures both real and fantastic, along with people, robots and other characters.
“Join the Qatar Kite Festival as professional kite flyers from different parts of the world fly beautiful kites day and night,” Qatar Events tweeted alongside the video.
The three-day festival runs March 16–18, and features day and night kite flying, food and drinks, and other entertainment. Children can participate in kite workshops where 1,000 free kites will be given away, according to Visit Qatar.
