The Foo Fighters plan to honor late drummer Taylor Hawkins with two tribute concerts scheduled for later this year.
According to the Associated Press, the Foo Fighters will perform the two tribute concerts in September – one in Los Angeles and one in London, UK. The Foo Fighters will perform in London on September 3 at Wembley Stadium. The Los Angeles tribute concert will take place on September 27 at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
Lineups for each show will be announced at a later date.
Hawkins passed away on March 25 during the Foo Fighters South American tour. He was fifty years old. Hawkins’ widow, Alison Hawkins, released a statement, saying in part, “As Taylor’s wife, and on behalf of our children, I want to say how much you meant to him and dedicated he was to ‘knocking your socks off’ during every performance. Taylor was honored to be a part of the Foo Fighters and valued his dream role in the band every minute of his 25 years with them.”
