Just months after getting engaged, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have exchanged vows in two separate ceremonies over the weekend.
Celebrating both of their cultures, the couple said “I do” in a Christian ceremony officiated by Jonas’ pastor father, Kevin Jonas Sr., on Saturday before honoring Priyanka’s Indian heritage with a Hindu ceremony on Sunday.
According to
People, the couple celebrated both ceremonies at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur where both Priyanka and Nick wore traditional Indian outfits for the Hindu ceremony and Ralph Lauren for their Christian wedding.
“It’s super important to Priyanka to have an Indian ceremony that honors her heritage and culture, just as it’s important to have a Western ceremony that honors Nick’s Christian upbringing,” a source told
People.
Keeping with Hindu tradition, both Priyanka and Nick participated in a Mehendi ceremony before exchanging vows which, according to
People, gathers all of the women together as the bride receives henna designs on her hands and feet. Priyanka and Nick’s Mehendi ceremony also included the men.
