Taco Bell Entering the Fried Chicken Wars

With fried chicken having a moment on fast-food menus across the country, Taco Bell is looking to cash in with their own Mexican-inspired chicken strips.

According to The Daily Meal, Taco Bell is testing out a new chicken menu item at select locations in Dayton, Ohio and Houston, Texas, in the hopes of rolling out the item nationwide in 2020.

The new item? Crispy Tortilla Chicken Strips, which features all-white chicken meat soaked in s jalapeno buttermilk marinade that is then rolled in a crunchy tortilla chip coated seasoned with a blend of spices, The Daily Meal reports. The Crispy Tortilla Chicken Strips will come served with a brand-new “signature dipping sauce.”

According to The Daily Meal, the strips come on their own in orders of two, or three, or served as part of a taco with lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, and sour cream.
