The cause of Tiger Woods’ car accident has been revealed, with excessive speed being to blame.
According to numerous media outlets, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva revealed speed as being the “primary causal factor” in the rollover crash, which saw the golf pro airlifted to hospital after being plucked from the wreckage by the jaws of life. During a press conference, Villanueva revealed Woods was driving between 85 and 87 mph in a 45 mph zone and his vehicle struck a tree at 75-mph.
The Los Angeles County sheriff reiterated there were “no signs of impairment” and there was no indication from Woods’ cell phone to show distracted driving. The golfing legend will not face any charges related to the accident, the sheriff confirmed.
