There’s a new exercise craze that not only benefits the body, it also helps Mother Earth.
Say hello to Plogging, a delightful combination of jogging and picking up trash, which can help work out the entire body thanks to the cardio from running combined with the squatting and lifting associated with stopping to pick up discarded papers, plastics and other litter along the way.
Plogging first got its start in Sweden a couple of years ago and since then it has taken off in other parts of the globe, with the social media hashtag #plogging documenting the workouts of ploggers the world over – and showcasing just how beneficial plogging can be for the environment.

Alle sammen 🎉 #plukkeyoga #plogging #nrkplast #plukkemuskel #ryddopp #reddhavet #arna #bergen #indrearna #vegansofig #vegansnappen #vegan #govegan #søppel #trash #pose #plast #planetplast #helenorgerydder #holdnorgerent @degronne

Plogging also burns more calories than regular jogging alone, with the Independent reporting people who plog burn approximately 20 percent more calories than those who just jog without stopping to pick up trash.
