Mel B Files for Divorce After Ten Year Marriage

America’s Got Talent judge and former Spice Girl Mel Brown has filed for divorce from her husband of nearly ten years, Stephen Belafonte.

The couple married in 2007 after five months of dating and they have one daughter together – five-year old Madison Brown Belafonte.
In court documents obtained by People Brown asked for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter. She also requested to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support.
The 41-year-old cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ in the legal papers and is being represented by top family law attorney, Susan Wiesner.

Mel B has two daughters from previous relationships – nine-year-old Angel Iris from her relationship with Eddie Murphy and seventeen-year-old Phoenix Chi from her 1998 – 2000 marriage to actor Jimmy Gulzar.
