A source has revealed to USA Today Lebanon has banned the new movie Wonder Woman. Grand Cinemas, which is based in the Lebanese city of Beirut, also tweeted news of the ban.
Lebanon is at war with Israel and the Associated Press reports this may be the reason for the movie being banned, since the film’s star – Gal Gadot – served in the Israeli army for two years. According to the Associated Press the ban is in accordance with a decades old law that prohibits Lebanese citizens from traveling to, or having contact with Israelis. It also boycotts the sale of Israeli products in Lebanon.
