It’s Official – Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez End Their Engagement

It’s the end of the road for the relationship known as J-Rod.
After weeks of speculation their relationship was going through a rough time, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have officially called off their engagement, saying in a joint statement they “are better as friends.”
The celebrity duo, who started dating in early 2017, told the TODAY show in a joint statement, “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects.”
“We wish the best for each other and one another’s children,” the statement continued. “Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
The couple, who got engaged in March 2019, were meant to tie the knot in Italy in summer 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic halted their wedding plans.
