Gigi Hadid Wins Model of the Year at 2016 British Fashion Awards

Looking every inch the stunning supermodel she is, Gigi Hadid could hardly hold back the tears as she accepted her award for Model of the Year at the 2016 British Fashion Awards.

Dressed in an elegant sculptured jumpsuit by Atelier Versace, the 21-year-old beat out sister Bella Hadid, and friend Kendall Jenner to swoop up the award.
Overcome with emotion as Donatella Versace handed her the award, Gigi reflected, “This is crazy,” adding, “I just want to say that I know I’m in the generation of social media, and I’m so blessed for that, but the fashion industry is my family.”
Gigi went on to thank numerous people in the industry including fashion photographer Bruce Weber and fashion stylist and editor, Carine Roitfeld for helping her get started in modeling.
“To everyone who has been so genuine, and looked beyond what the rest of the world looked for, that has meant so much to me,” Hadid revealed. “You guys know who I am, and that to me means so much.”

To be voted for this award by the @britishfashioncouncil, to stand in front of an audience full of my greatest inspirations, idols, and friends, and to be presented International Model of the Year by my angel @donatella_versace was one of the most humbling and emotional experiences of my life. To walk into that room and feel so at home is a great blessing and I have & will cherish every friend, memory, lesson and adventure this industry has given me, forever. I can't wait to continue to grow and create with all of you, and to see what the future holds !! Make a conscious effort every day to be someone people enjoy working with, and your possibilities will surprise you. ❤️
