With gyms closed across the country and people hunkering down at home as we practice social distancing, the coronavirus pandemic has left many of us putting physical fitness on the back burner.
To help combat depression and anxiety, medical professionals have advised people to keep up with exercise while they are socially isolating at home, pointing out a good workout can help release endorphins and boost our moods.
Fortunately many fitness apps have decided to offer free classes as we practice social distancing – here are five to try right now!
Daily Burn
Daily Burn is currently offering a free 60-day trial period for new and returning customers. The app offers thousands of different workouts so you can mix it up every day from your own home. The app will even design workout programs specifically tailored for your fitness level and goals and includes everything from beginner pilates, muscle building and yoga, to group classes and cardio kickboxing.
Planet Fitness With their gym locations temporarily closed due to the coronavirus, Planet Fitness is taking their workouts live courtesy of Facebook Live. Every day at 7 p.m ET, the company will offer a free 30-minute workout with a Planet Fitness trainer.
Barry’s Bootcamp No equipment, no worries! Barry’s Bootcamp is offering a 20-minute fitness class twice a day via Instagram. Classes are led by different Barry’s fitness instructors.
