Country music star Carrie Underwood made her first public performance since breaking her wrist and suffering a facial injury during a fall last November.
Carrie took to the stage at the Academy of Country Music Awards over the weekend to sing her newest hit “Cry Pretty” in an emotional performance, which landed the
American Idol star a standing ovation.
The occasion marked Carrie’s first public appearance since the accident, which left the 35-year-old with 40 stitches in her face. After undergoing facial surgery, Carrie has been very careful to only show only partial pictures of her face on social media.
“When I am ready to get back in front of the camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a little different,” Underwood shared with fans on her website in January.
Following the stellar performance, Fans of Underwood took to Twitter to congratulate the brave singer.
