Most of the time 93-year-old Mary-Lou Williams is a sweet, doting grandma, but during the month of October this fun loving senior spends her time scaring adults and children alike at a haunted house – and gets paid for it!
The Arkansas grandma got the job after her son, who manages the Warehouse of Fear in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, needed an elderly person to play a certain role. Five years later Williams is still there and hasn’t missed one day – “I enjoy it,” Williams revealed. “And I enjoy the people I work with.” Source: KTHV
The Warehouse of Fear has 24 different rooms with different spooky decorations and props. Each year Williams’ character changes, but for this Halloween she will play a nursing home patient who has beaten her nurse for making her eat too many veggies.
“Some [people] just run through the room, and then some of them get so scared they back out,” Williams said. “I think sometimes they’re kind of goofy.”
Williams uses the money she earns from her haunted house gig to purchase Christmas presents for her five sons and her ten grandsons.
