If you watched the Olympics last year and noticed the red, circular dots all over Michael Phelps’ back you will be pleased to know the same process that achieved those painful looking dots can now be applied to the face.
Face-Cupping isn’t exactly new. In fact this ancient Asian therapy has been around for centuries, but in Hollywood it’s the new anti-aging treatment that has celebrities flocking. According to the Hollywood Reporter it’s one of the popular treatments in Hollywood.
Small heated silicone, or glass cups are placed on the skin to form a suction. This suction helps to drain the lymph nodes, which supposedly improves blood flow. The therapy is a form of acupuncture that can be used all over the body to improve everything from muscle pain, to depression and even cellulite. On the face it can help firm up the jowl, relieve signs of stress and give the face a more well-rested appearance.
According to the Daily Mail, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston and Sadie Frost are all big fan of Cupping.
