Trouble sleeping? Sometimes daily stress, time spent on technology and our busy minds can prevent us from unwinding properly before bedtime, which in turn leads to later nights and poor sleep habits. If you find yourself tossing and turning trying to fall asleep, a soothing chamomile latte may be just what you need – and best of all it’s super easy to make.
This perfect night time treats blends chamomile – a natural sedative, with milk. The calcium in milk helps your body produce melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating sleep cycles, but if you are lactose intolerant almond milk tastes just as delicious in this recipe.
1 bag chamomile tea
4 oz. milk, or almond milk
4 oz. hot water
Honey, or vanilla to taste
Place chamomile tea bag in hot water and allow to steep for 4 – 5 minutes.
Warm milk in a saucepan until it starts to steam, removing from the heat before it boils.
Stir milk into chamomile tea and sweeten with honey, or vanilla.
* If you like a frothy latte, simply whisk the milk before adding to the brewed tea.
