Selena Gomez is now officially part of the PUMA family. The singer and actress gave her social media followers a first look at her campaign for the athletic wear company.
Gomez, who is also the face of Louis Vuitton and Coach, shared a pic on Instagram wearing a PUMA crop top, leggings, sunglasses and huge gold hoop earrings. She captioned the shot, “Officially a part of the fam.”
“Being a part of the PUMA family is very exciting for me,” Gomez revealed in a statement. “PUMA has changed the game when it comes to the mash-up of athletic wear and fashion. It’s amazing to see this influence on style and culture and I’m excited to be a part of it. I am hoping we can create something special together. We already have some really cool projects in the works.”
PUMA also announced their collaboration with Selena, sharing a photo of the 25-year-old in black sneakers and shorts and remarking on her “fearless talent.”
Selena’s campaign with PUMA suggests the athleisure wear trend is continuing to grow. JD Sports reported a growth of 40% already this year thanks in part to the popularity of athleisure apparel and Gap CEO Art Peck recently revealed his company would be taking some of their focus away from Banana Republic and the Gap in order to concentrate efforts on their Athleta brand.
