In the announcement, an emotional Gilbert revealed her hectic schedule between filming The Conners, co-hosting The Talk and parenting her kids has “left her life slightly out of balance.”
“It’s difficult because this is a place that I love and a place that I am extremely happy,” Gilbert said. “I love the hosts, I love the crew, I love our staff. I am so grateful to the audience for letting me into your homes every day. It’s been such an honor.”
Gilbert revealed her decision was something she had been struggling with for a while, but that she looked at her busy schedule for the next six months and wondered where she would find the time to do it all.
“I’m just feeling like I don’t know how I’m gonna do it all,” Gilbert shared. “Even just small things in my life. My youngest is four years old and I still haven’t made his baby book.”
Gilbert will stay on through the end of the season and promised fans she would be back to guest co-host.
