Bruised vocal cords have forced singer Justin Timberlake to postpone his New York City concert.
According to In Touch, Timberlake was due to perform at Madison Square Garden on Thursday evening as part of his Man of the Woods tour, but fans are now going to have to wait a little bit longer.
Timberlake took to Instagram to announce the news, writing, “Hey guys, I’m sorry to announce that I have to postpone the show at MSG tonight on doctor’s orders. My vocal cords are severely bruised.”
“I’m gonna make this up to you and the new show will be on my birthday, January 31. More info to come. Again I’m so sorry to do this, but excited to see you soon.”
Vocal cord bruising can occur with excessive use of the voice, which causes one or more of the capillaries in the cords to rupture, leaking blood into the tissue.
