Infant Ibuprofen Voluntarily Recalled

Important information for parents who may have purchased infant ibuprofen recently.
New Jersey-based Tris Pharma, Inc. are issuing a voluntary recall for lots sold under Walmart, CVS Pharmacy and Family Dollar brands as they might contain a higher concentration of ibuprofen.
According to the company there is a “remote possibility” the increased amount of ibuprofen could lead to permanent kidney damage in infants. Other possible effects include stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headaches and even possible stomach bleeding, according to USA Today.
According to USA Today and the company’s recall notice, Walmart sells the product under their Equate label, Family Dollar sells it under their Family Wellness label and CVS Pharmacy sell the product under their CVS Health label. The product was packaged in 0.5 oz. bottles and labeled “Infants’ Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension.”
