Barbra Streisand Cloned Her Beloved Pet Dog Samantha

In an interview with Variety, Barbra Streisand revealed her current two dogs are actually clones of her beloved pet dog Samantha who died last year.

Streisand, a huge fan of the Coton du Tulear breed of dog, acknowledged cells were taken from the stomach and mouth of Samantha and cloned. The result? Her two precious pooches Miss Scarlett and Miss Violet!

According to USA Today, the cost to clone a pet can range anywhere in price from $25,000 to $100,000.

The showbiz icon revealed of Miss Scarlett and Miss Violet, “They have very different personalities. I’m waiting for them to get older to see if they have [Samantha’s] brown eyes and her seriousness.”

Streisand’s beloved pooch Samantha sadly passed away in 2017. Barbra currently has three Cotons du Tulear – Miss Scarlett, Miss Violet and a distant cousin of Samantha’s named Miss Fanny.
